Oakstones Club

The club was founded in 1959 and we celebrated our 60th Diamond Anniversary in 2019. The club is for over-fifties and meets on the first Wednesday of each month at Great Oakley Village Hall at 2pm. Members come from Little Oakley, Stones Green, Dovercourt as well as Great Oakley itself. afternoon activities include  interesting talks, musical entertainers, quizzes, Bingo, Fish and chip lunch, Christmas Lunch and always served with delicious tea and home made cakes.

We hold an annual Spring Sale selling cakes, plants etc, to increase our funds.  We arrange at least two coach outings a year.  

Every year the Club hosts a cribbage Tournament in the village Hall with players from clubs all over Essex. Winners are awarded the Great Oakley Rose Bowl. This tournament has been running for over 50 years
